Why LiFePO4 rather than lead-acid or NMC for solar
Lead-acid is cheaper on day one and more expensive by year three: shallow usable depth of discharge, poor tolerance of the partial-state-of-charge conditions a solar system lives in, and replacement cycles that arrive far too often for a pole-mounted or rooftop installation where every swap costs labour. NMC has higher energy density, which matters when weight is the constraint — on a drone, not on a street light pole.
