LFP Battery Manufacturing — LiFePO4 Packs Built in India

When buyers look for LFP battery manufacturers in India, they are usually looking for one of two very different things: cell manufacturing, or pack manufacturing. It is worth being precise about which one you need, because almost nobody in the market makes that distinction clear.

LFP cell manufacturing — producing the raw LiFePO4 cells themselves — is a gigafactory-scale business, and India's domestic cell capacity is still being built out. LFP pack manufacturing is where the engineering that determines your product's actual performance happens: cell grading and matching, series–parallel architecture, BMS design and configuration, thermal layout, enclosure, and validation testing. Where LFP is the right call: anything that cycles daily for years and does not have to be light — solar, ESS, street lighting, industrial standby, weighing and instrumentation. Where it is not: drones and UAVs, where energy per kilogram decides flight time and semi-solid state or Li-ion wins outright. Cell Sourcing, Imports & Why It Matters to Your Product

India's lithium cell supply is still substantially import-dependent, and any honest Indian battery manufacturer will tell you the same. What separates suppliers is not whether cells are imported — it is what happens to those cells after they land.

We import cells directly from established international manufacturers and then do the work that actually determines pack quality in India: incoming inspection, capacity and internal-resistance grading, cell matching within each pack, assembly, BMS programming and pack-level operational testing. A pack built from graded, matched cells behaves predictably for its whole life. A pack built from ungraded cells fails early at whichever cell was weakest, and no BMS can fully compensate for that.

OEM Supply — Questions Buyers Actually Ask

Packs — and it is worth putting that question to every supplier on your shortlist. Cell production and pack production are different industries with different capital behind them, and a company doing one seriously is rarely doing the other. What we take responsibility for is everything between the bare cell and your finished product, which is also where most field failures are actually created. If a supplier answers this question vaguely, the vagueness tends to resolve itself badly around month eighteen.

We import them directly from established international cell manufacturers, and we would rather say so plainly. India’s cell supply is still substantially import-dependent, and a pack manufacturer who implies otherwise is worth a second question. What happens in India is the part that decides how long a pack lasts: incoming inspection, capacity and internal-resistance grading, matching cells within each pack, assembly, BMS programming and pack-level testing. Buying cells ourselves rather than through a trading layer keeps traceability and the cost structure under our control instead of a middleman’s.

Start with whether grams matter. If the product sits on a pole, in a rack or on a workbench, weight is close to free and what you are really buying is cycle life — that is LFP’s argument. If it leaves the ground, every gram comes straight out of payload or endurance, and the higher energy density of semi-solid state or Li-ion decides it. We manufacture both, so there is no version of this conversation in which we benefit from pointing you at the wrong one. Where an application sits genuinely between the two, we would rather say so than guess on your behalf.

Yes. We supply pre-production samples for your own qualification testing, with technical data sheets, and our engineers will take an evaluation call with your team while the packs are on your bench. A problem found during your qualification is a cheap problem; the same problem found in a first production run is not.

That depends on the tender, and we are not going to tell you otherwise to win an order. What we can state plainly is what we do and where: the pack is manufactured at our Bangalore facility, the cells are imported and then graded, matched and assembled here, and you receive a GST invoice, test documentation and a local warranty. Local-content wording differs from one scheme and one tender to the next, so send us the clause you have to satisfy and we will tell you honestly whether we can support it.
