Mobility devices carry people and do real work, so their batteries have to be safe, long-running and dependable. Leolus Energy manufactures custom lithium batteries for smart mobility — from electric wheelchairs to cleaning machines and utility vehicles — built for high cycle life and stable power under load.
We engineer packs for the discharge profiles and runtime that mobility and service equipment demand, with multi-layer BMS protection for safe everyday use.
Smart Mobility We Power
Electric Wheelchairs
Safe, long-range lithium packs for electric wheelchairs and personal mobility devices.
Cleaning Machines
High-capacity batteries for floor scrubbers and powered cleaning machines.
Portable Mobility Devices
Compact, dependable packs for portable and foldable mobility devices.
Service Equipment
Durable batteries for powered service and utility equipment.
Electric Utility Vehicles
Robust lithium packs for light electric utility and service vehicles.
What a Light Mobility Battery Specification Has to Pin Down
Most enquiries we receive specify capacity and voltage and stop there. For smart mobility the parameters below decide whether the pack survives its intended service life, and they are the ones worth agreeing before a purchase order.
| Parameter | Typical requirement | Why it decides the outcome |
|---|---|---|
| Range under real load | Tested with rider, cargo and gradient | Range figures quoted at 60kg on flat ground bear no relation to a loaded delivery vehicle on Indian roads. |
| Charge cycle expectation | Cycles at the depth of discharge actually used | A commercial delivery vehicle runs deep cycles daily. A personal-use vehicle rarely does. The same pack has very different lives in those two roles. |
| Thermal management | Passive or active, sized to Indian ambient | Charging a warm pack in a warm room compounds heat. Fast charging without thermal management is the fastest route to premature degradation. |
| Ingress and impact protection | Sealed against monsoon and road debris | Under-floor and rear-rack packs take direct water spray and stone impact. Housing design matters as much as cell chemistry. |
| Applicable standards | Correct standard for the vehicle category | Traction packs for road vehicles sit under a different standard than portable packs. Certifying to the wrong one is expensive and does not achieve compliance. |
Three Mistakes We See Repeatedly
These come up often enough in smart mobility projects that they are worth stating plainly. None of them are exotic; all of them are expensive to discover after tooling is committed.
Fast charging without thermal design
Charge rate that a pack tolerates at 25°C can damage it at 42°C ambient. Charge current has to be temperature-compensated.
Ignoring depth-of-discharge in the warranty
A cycle-life warranty quoted at 80% DoD does not describe a fleet running to 95% every day. Read what depth the number was measured at.
Undocumented BMS behaviour
Riders need to understand why the vehicle limited power. A BMS that derates silently generates support calls and distrust.
If you are working through a specification and want a second opinion before committing, send it over — we would rather flag a problem at the drawing stage than build to a spec we know will disappoint. See how our custom pack process works.
